The pictures currently on display at central Library are taken from the fostering team’s children’s art day. These have been running for the last three years as part of the Fostering Fortnight celebrations taking place at the large hall in Central Library.

Local artists come in and help the children to explore different ways of looking at art in a free and easy manner, skill is not important but creativity and fun are. This is true both of the children attending and the fostering team and carers.

They are always well attended from across a wide range of ages and both looked after children and birth children take part. The children get to try a whole heap of different activities from painting, charcoal and drawing to printing, photography, model making, collage and even dressing up.

There is always plenty of talent on show backed up with lots of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, this also always means plenty of mess too! Surely though this is half the fun?
