Fostering recruitment for Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey and Islington are now provided through the North London Fostering Hub.

Foster North London, brings these six councils together to help recruit and support more foster carers across the region. By working together, we can provide a simpler and more consistent experience for people who are interested in fostering.

If you would like to find out more about fostering, check if you are eligible, or speak to someone about becoming a foster carer, please visit Foster North London or call 020 7974 0125.

Working together to find more local foster carers for children and young people across North London.

Do you have room in your heart and your home for a child?

We welcome carers from all backgrounds, of all ages, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity and whether single or in a relationship. You don’t have to have children of your own; you can be working or on benefits and it doesn’t matter whether you own or rent your home.

We simply need people who can listen to a child, keep them safe and support them to develop.

To foster with Islington you must:

  • Have a spare bedroom if you want to foster children over two years old.
  • Be able to take children to and from school to health appointments and to meet their family.
  • Be in general good health.
  • Be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Be available for a child whenever they need you.
  • Be committed to attending our training and support groups.

When you become an Islington foster carer, you become part of the ‘team around the child’ working closely with our service and other professionals to give children and you all the support needed.
