Islington is a proactive fostering service and is highly committed in promoting the health and welfare. We love to hear from foster carers who share this passion and want to be the difference in our children’s lives.
We use trauma-informed practice and therapeutic parenting. Together with our foster carers we get to the heart of the matter by using our child-centred model. This involves understanding the impact of our children’s life experiences and the impact of trauma on their sense of self and the world around them. We look at what the child’s behaviour is telling us about how they are feeling and help them express their feelings.
We believe in connecting with children before we start correcting their behaviour.
